How long can the pneumatic butterfly valve last?

The service life of pneumatic butterfly valve also depends on the process pressure acting on it. It can also be designed to contain process fluids internally or externally. However, it is difficult to compress from the outside and expand from the inside. External pressure can double life.
Pipes are typically handled at process pressures of 250 psi to 550 psi (17.2 bar to 37.9 bar). It can also be designed as a pipe wall with up to four layers. According to different rated pressure and temperature, the pipe wall thickness is 0.004~0.006in (0.1~0.15mm). Multiple layers provide longer cycle life because multiple layers of pipe wall bear the stress of process pressure together, rather than single layer of pipe wall bear all the pressure stress.
Multilayer pipe walls can also be used for higher pressure applications than single layers, as shown in Table 9.15. Although many standard design pressures are between 250~550psi (17.2~37.9bar), under severe conditions, the design pressure of pneumatic butterfly valves may be as high as 3800pi (262bar), and the temperature range is - 320~1000F (- 195 - 535C).
