The general structure of rubber shock absorber is almost composed of hub, damping rubber ring, inertia block and other parts. At present, there are two common consumption processes of rubber like shock absorber: vulcanization type and pressing type.
1. Vulcanization type is to put the processed hub and inertia block into the vulcanization mold
(1) Fill the previously calculated amount of raw rubber into the gap between the hub and the inertia block;
(2) Put the mold and workpiece together on the heating plate of the plate vulcanizer (the vulcanizer has been heated to the vulcanization temperature in advance), press the mold tightly under a certain pressure, and hold on for a certain time to stop vulcanization;
(3) The curing pressure, temperature and time shall be determined according to different rubber types and formulas;
(4) Under the combined action of temperature and pressure, the raw rubber begins to melt, and fills the gap between the hub and the inertia block. The excess rubber can be discharged from the material outlet on the mold;
(5) The positioning of the workpiece and the accuracy of the position and shape after forming are guaranteed by the mold. In practical consumption, proper adhesive should be used and proper surface treatment can be carried out on the surface of wheel hub and inertia block to increase the solidity of vulcanized bonding. After vulcanization, take the workpiece from the mold. After cooling and molding, the hub, rubber and inertia block are firmly bonded together, and the excess rubber is removed, which is called waste product.
2. The press in type is different from the vulcanized type. It uses a previously vulcanized damping rubber ring
(1) On the press mounting machine, special press mounting mould shall be used to press the rubber ring between the hub and inertia block at a certain tightening ratio;
(2) Appropriate adhesive shall also be applied and proper surface treatment can be carried out on the wheel hub and inertia block surface to increase the bonding firmness;
(3) After the adhesive between the hub and the inertia block is cured, it is a waste product (some consumer processes need to process the outer belt groove of the inertia block after curing).
Compared with the vulcanized type, the pressed type applies preload by adjusting the shrink ratio of the rubber ring. Its adjustment amount is much larger than the vulcanized type, which can make the rubber ring work in the best state.
