Why some pneumatic butterfly valves fail
The stainless steel wire mesh sleeve in the pneumatic butterfly valve is used to maintain the bellows and bear the medium pressure (mainly axial force) in the bellows. The mesh sleeve is wound outside the bellows, and the bellows, end ring and pneumatic butterfly valve joints are welded at both ends.
(1) False welding constitutes pulling off of wire mesh sleeve
Due to welding quality elements, bellows, ring and steel mesh sleeve constitute local virtual welding of steel wire (welding or end welding) in the trinity welding process. After the hose device is connected to the pipeline, due to the uneven force on the steel wire, under the influence of medium pressure, the virtual steel wire is welded in the center, and all the steel wire mesh is covered, leading to the risk of failure and attack of the bellows drum. In order to eliminate this situation, the welding quality should be improved. The water pressure and air tightness test shall be stopped before the hose leaves the factory, and the hose shall be qualified before leaving the factory.
(2) Improper installation, resulting in broken wire mesh
During the installation, the hose will stretch and deform due to improper installation or excessive pressure. When the tensile or twisting stress exceeds the ultimate strength of the hose wire mesh, the mesh or other parts of the pneumatic butterfly valve trinity welding parts will be broken, and then the bellows will be manufactured outside. The drum is damaged due to tensile failure, resulting in medium leakage. Therefore, the planning and selection should be accurate.
